Subject Line: Melissa Brown #23 (Left Back) HYS 02 Team at Jefferson Cup

Dear Coach Timmons,

My name is Melissa Brown and I play for Herndon Youth Soccer’s U17 Thunder Black team as a left back. I am a junior at McLean High School in McLean, Virginia. My current GPA is 3.5 and I am taking four AP classes, including AP Calculus BC. I am committed to maintaining high academic achievement throughout high school and college.

After researching numerous college soccer programs, I have concluded that Milton University offers the ideal mix of academic and soccer excellence for me. It fulfills my desire to attend a large public research university with a diverse student body and wide range of undergraduate majors, while also pushing me to grow as a player due to the highly competitive nature of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

I have read about your coaching philosophy and achievements and it would be the highest honor for me to join your program as a player one day. I pride myself on being coachable, working hard, and communicating positively with my teammates.

I am planning to travel to Milton on March 15 to attend one of your spring training matches and, although I realize you cannot host me in an official capacity, I wanted to let you know in advance that I will be there. I also wanted to give you my upcoming tournament/showcase schedule. I will be playing at the Jefferson Cup and my games are as follows:

Jefferson Cup 2020:

Friday, 3/22 8:00 am HYS Thunder Black 02 v. PDA Shore 02 @River City #01

Saturday 3/23 2:00 pm HYS Thunder Black 02 v. SUSA ECNL 02 @River City #08

Sunday 3/24 4:30 pm HYS Thunder Black 02 v. World Class FC @West Creek #02

You can view my player profile (www.melissabrownplayerprofile.com) and my highlights video (www.melissabrownhighlightvideo.com) and feel free to contact my coach, Nadir Moumen (copied on this email), for more background on me.

I look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

Melissa K. Brown
