June 7, 2015

Herndon FC Elite, a rising U15 Boys team coached by Total Futbol's Dan Merold, won their second NCSL Championship in as many years by topping the league's U14 Division 3 with an impressive 7-1-1 run. The team scored 23 goals through nine games, allowing an average of just one goal per game.

Last spring, Herndon Youth Soccer's rising Boys U15 team FC Elite, coached by Total Futbol's Dan Merold (pictured above with the team), captured the NCSL Division 3 Championship with an impressive 7-1-1 run, scoring 23 goals and allowing only nine in nine games. Previously, the team won NCSL Division 4. The team started the spring 2015 campaign with six straight wins which, when combined with the previous season's last six games, constituted a 12-match winning streak. Spring 2015 marked the fourth consecutive winning season for the team, as well as the fourth time that the team advanced to a higher division in league play. The team will play in Division 2 for fall 2015 -- 18 of 19 players will return from last season to continue the squad's triumphant march through the NCSL ranks.

The successful spring season kicked off with FC Elite taking the Marylander Soccer Tournament crown, as well as winning two indoor tournaments.
