Mia Hoen-Beck Attends U17 Women’s National Team Camp

It’s been a fantastic year so far for Mia Hoen-Beck and it continues to get better. Mia plays for McLean Youth Soccer’s U16 ECNL team, coached by Total Futbol Director Nadir Moumen. The team is comprised of many incredibly talented players, and Mia has been able to capitalize on the great overall play of the group to score 20 goals in 14 ECNL games this year.

Her incredible run of form was noticed at the Frisco, Texas ECNL National Event weekend from February 22-24, 2013. She scored goals in each of McLean’s 3 games on the weekend to end the weekend with 4 goals and she was selected as the MVP in each of those matches. The goals helped propel McLean to 3 wins on the weekend and their perfect record was unmatched by any other teams in the U16 age group at the Frisco Event.

For Mia individually, the scoring streak couldn’t have continued at a better time. Representatives from US Soccer were on hand at the event and saw her fantastic run of form. An invitation to participate in the U17 National Team Camp was sent the night of McLean’s last game for the camp set to run from March 2-9, 2013 in Chula Vista, California which was promptly accepted.

Overall, the camp was a resounding success for Hoen-Beck. The highlight of the camp was an intersquad scrimmage in which Mia scored twice in the first 20 minutes to give her team a 2-0 lead. Her play during the camp garnered accolades from TopDrawerSoccer.com, as she grabbed the headline in their article summarizing the game, “Mia Hoen-Beck shines in U17 WNT scrimmage. Many coaches that were in attendance and observing the game echoed that sentiment.

Mia has always been a player with great passion for the game and someone willing to do the extra work to constantly improve and make an impact at the highest level. We’re thrilled to see her hard work paying off with this fantastic opportunity with the National Team, and look forward to seeing what the future holds.
