Herndon Hurricanes White finished 2nd place at the Spring 2013 FPYC Liberty Cup. The tournament was round-robin format and the other teams in the Under-10 Girls bracket included: VSA Gold, CCYS Dyanmite, Stafford Blue, Loudoun White, VSA White, and host FPYC Freedom. All games were played on the turf at Lee District Park.
The schedule had each of the 7 teams face 4 opponents and then rank the teams on their overall points in the competition. Hurricanes White matched up against VSA White and Stafford Blue on the first day of action. It was a very successful day for the girls, as they were victorious in both games, scoring 9 times while only conceding once.
Day 2 of the tournament began with their most challenging opponent of the weekend, VSA Gold. The game was close throughout, and the opponents were able to secure a 1-0 win which was enough in the end to give them 1st place overall. Herndon bounced back well and won their final game with a convincing 5-0 scoreline which clinched the 2nd place trophy for them. Overall on the weekend the team scored 14 times and only gave up two goals.
