Thunder Black WAGS D1 Champions
Vienna Thunder Black returned to WAGS play this Fall after sitting out the Spring to participate in a highly competitive Region 1 league.  Their resume and record had them honored by being placed a year above their age group, into U16 Division 1.
Any worry of intimidation evaporated instantly as the first game of the season saw the girls dominate SYC Pride United, who would go on to reach the Virginia State Cup Final 4 in their age group, 6-0.  The quality form continued over the next 4 games as Thunder Black went undefeated over their opening 5 matches.  Over that time they amassed a record of 3-0-2 with 10 goals scored and just two conceded.
Heading into the final weekend of the season the girls were in great shape to claim a divisional honor with a pair of matches remaining.  After a stumble in the opening match, Vienna came in needing to beat VSA Heat Blue 97 to get first place.  VSA occupied the spot coming in to the game and Thunder Black were 2 points behind them in the standings.  The game turned into a wild one, but Vienna prevailed 4-3 to capture the division crown.  Well done, girls!
