Spring 2015 Washington Post All-Met Teams

Seven players coached by Total Futbol earned Spring 2015 All-Met honors from The Washington Post's sports writers for Girls’ high school soccer. The Post collected nominations from over 250 high schools across the DC Region and then selected the Player of the Year (PoY), Coach of the Year, 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mention Best Teams for nine different sports. For the second year in a row, a Total Futbol player took the coveted PoY prize.
 
Since the Fall of 2012, players coached by Total Futbol have won All-Met honors for their contributions to local high school soccer teams 36 times, including two "Player of the Year" awards, 9 First Team awards, 12 Second Team awards and 16 Honorable Mention awards.
 
The following players won All-Met soccer honors for Spring 2015:
 
Player of the Year:
Caroline Kerns FORWARD Broad Run / Senior: "Since returning from a knee injury that sidelined her as a sophomore, the Virginia Tech signee and two-time All-Met has elevated her game. Using her leadership, size and speed to shake off constant double teams, the Virginia 5A North Region Player of the Year scored 17 goals and dished out 12 assists to lead the Spartans to an unbeaten regular season, the Conference 14 championship and region title game."

All-Met First Team:
 
Alia Abu Hawa DEFENDER/MIDFIELDER James Madison / Senior: "Conference 6 player of the year and Virginia Tech recruit excelled in the midfield (five assists) and at center back."

Rebecca Callison MIDFIELDER Battlefield / Senior: "Tallied 18 goals and 21 assists with her pinpoint touch for Virginia 6A North region champs. Vocal leader will play at Kentucky."

Kristina Diana MIDFIELDER South County / Senior: "Virginia Gatorade player of the year also was named 6A North Region's top player after tallying 12 goals and a team-high five assists."
