Total Futbol is proud to announce its Class of 2017, currently featuring 13 players headed to their respective NCAA women’s soccer teams starting this fall. In early February, players celebrated signing their letters of intent at their high schools or at home, surrounded by friends, family and the coaches (both high school and club) who helped them achieve their dreams.

The members of Total Futbol’s 2017 graduating class will represent 12 institutions contending in nine different athletic conferences. 38% (5) of players will compete in NCAA Division I programs; 15% (2) will compete in Division II programs; and 46% (6) will compete in Division III.

“We are very proud of the Class of 2017, which has shown outstanding commitment and determination for many years,” said Nadir Moumen, Executive Director of Total Futbol. “It takes something special to achieve the excellence required for college athletics and we are excited to watch these players shine at the next level.”

Since 2012, 85 players coached by Total Futbol are either playing or have committed to play soccer in college: 65 athletes (77%) for Division I programs and 20 (23%) for Division II or III programs. As a point of reference, nationally a mere 2.4% of female high school athletes move on to play DI soccer, and about 4.8% move on to DII or DIII soccer (ncaa.com).

Total Futbol takes pride in its track record of helping players make the transition to collegiate athletics and we believe athletic participation fosters lifelong skills. For example, according to a recent study by Gallup®, Inc., former student-athletes who received a bachelor’s degree between 1970 and 2014 are leading other college graduates in four out of five elements of well-being that Gallup studied. These former student- athletes are more likely than non-student-athletes to be thriving in "purpose, social, community and physical well-being". You can read the full report HERE
