Total Futbol Players Named to Washington Post All-Met Teams for Spring 2014

Eight Total Futbol players have received 2014 Spring All-Met honors from The Washington Post sports writers for Girls’ High School Soccer. The Post collected nominations from over 250 high schools across the DC Region and then selected the Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, 1st, 2nd, and Honorable Mentions Best Teams.

The following Total Futbol players earned All-Met honors for Spring 2014:

All-Met Player of the year:

Laila Gray FORWARD Chantilly / Senior: Two-time All-Met and the 6A North region player of the year paced the Chargers with 22 goals to go with four assists in winning their third straight conference/district crown.  Using a mix of speed, quickness and crafty moves.  Gray is a consistent playmaker who can both the find the back of the net and elevate her teammates through deft passing.

All-Met First Team:

Caroline Kerns FORWARD Broad Run / Junior: After missing her sophmore year with a knee injury, the VT commit bounced back to net a team-high eight goals for the Spartans.
